Awesome New Mural By Faith47: Madonna Mia Proteggimi
Faith47, one of the best known and most prolific street artists of the moment, continues to put her mark on the streets of the world, changing their faces with her signature murals that not only have a strong visual impact but also have powerful messages within them, the artistic credo of the South-African based graffiti artist being to make the world a better place through art and creativity.
The new mural by Faith47 is part of Rome’s Outdoor Urban Art Festival, a celebration of street art which gathered 15 artists from Japan, France, South Africa, Norway, Greece and Italy to renew with street art’s colors and meanings some of the Eternal City’s forgotten areas. Faith47 represented well the female side of the movement with her “Madonna Mia Proteggimi” mural, painted in the characteristic colors and style. As usual, her work has a message to deliver, reflecting upon the dangerous passage taken by stowaways in their journey over the oceans to idealized promised lands, being textured with scrawlings referenced from writings by stowaways found under bridges in port towns.
