The Vipp Shelter, a 55 sqm fully equipped house made of galvanized steel created by the Danish brand Vipp is the example that perfectly illustrates how much prefabricated houses have evolved.

This minimalist prefab is simply breathtaking, possibly the most stylish ‘shelter’ we’ve seen in a while. And what surprises most is that the Vipp Shelter is the first project of this kind for Vipp– mainly known for their sturdy, steel bathroom and kitchen accessories.  And now they have created something new and absolutely amazing: a modern, completely furnished Danish prefab home that looks beautiful anywhere you put it.

Galvanized steel and large glass sheet windows create a two-storey operational living space consisting in a large kitchen with dining/living area, a separate bathroom and a loft. The house can accommodate up to four people and it comes fully equipped with a range of stylish furniture, lighting, tables, towels, and bed linens, while electrical underfloor heating works alongside a centrally located fireplace to keep everything nice and cozy.

Vipp Shelter prices start at $585,000 (€485,000) with a delivery time of six months plus freight + installation. Although the Vipp’s prefab home is looking awesome and is highly practical, the price is still a little prohibitive but if you consider it can house four people and comes completely furnished, it certainly beats current options in cities like  London or New York City.

Starting with the idea of going back to the basics, Vipp managed to create a modern tiny house, both the perfect modern escape and year-round dwelling place. A striking example of good modern design.
