At first glance, these images appear to be the work of a photographer. Even upon a closer look, the extraordinarily detailed images seem too life-like to be anything but a picture. But these hyper-realistic works are in fact paintings, created by Patrick Kramer, a hyper realistic painter originally from Kaysville, Utah.

Describing himself as a perfectionist, Kramer works at piece, painting full-time from 1 – 6 weeks (50 – 300 hours), depending on the size and complexity and the result is impressive. From a woman in canary yellow dresses floating in mid air, goldfishes in bowls or a butterfly on a deck of cards, Patrick Kramer approaches a wide range of subjects, painting whatever captures his interest. No matter what he chooses to paint, he manages to achieve an impressive level of realism, so high that you could easily mistake them for a photograph.

Amazing what oil painting is still capable of. Check out the image gallery below and visit Patrick Kramer’s Facebook page or website for more of his beautiful works.
