Awesome New Miniature Watercolor Paintings By Lorraine Loots
We were first introduced to the work of South African artist Lorraine Loots through her 365 Postcards for Ants projects – amazing mini masterpieces that took our breath away. Using paint brushes, pencils and bare eyes Lorraine created amazing series of detailed miniature watercolor paintings scarcely larger than a small coin.
We were fascinated by the minute details of her amazingly tiny paintings, something unique and wonderful that we haven’t seen before so we were very happy to find that she recently embarked on a new series of miniature watercolor paintings. The new series involves 100 new artworks painted in four categories: Microcosm Mondays, Tiny Tuesdays (vintage book covers), Fursdays, and Free Fridays (images of anything).
All 100 paintings are being auctioned on her Instagram account and will eventually be framed in raw wood and exhibited before they will be sent to their respective owners in February of 2016. A limited edition of ten prints will be released for each of the 100 paintings. These prints will be available later in the year.
Below we have created a collection of her latest work, for more about the artist and her work you can visit her website.
