Stunning Photos Of The Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, A Masterpiece Of Islamic Architecture
Islamic culture has given some of the most beautiful architectural masterpieces to the world. Painstaking details and geometric and arabesque ornaments are the signature and unique features of Islamic architecture.
Muslim Mosques throughout the world contain some of the most beautiful architecture and interior designs which have sublime intricate patterns. In today’s post we’ll be looking at some stunning photos that show the incredible interiors of the biggest mosque in the Middle East, the ornate Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is a luxurious spectacle to say the very least. The entree building is made up of marble stone and boasts accents of gold and semi-precious stones. Built only recently (2007), it holds the record of being the 8th largest mosque in the world.
The beautiful photos of Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque were captured by amateur British photographer Julian John , a teaching assistant originally from Brighton, Sussex, but living in the UAE capital for the last four years. Captivated by the beauty of this masterpiece of Islamic architecture, Julian visits the prayer halls as often as he can to capture their ornate beauty.
The result is absolutely breathtaking as you can see in the image gallery below and Julian John who describes the mosque as “the jewel in the United Arab Emirates crown” is planning an exhibition of his epic photos.
Like many other buildings of Islamic architecture, the Grand Mosque offers so many photographic opportunities, from stunning interiors to domes and minarets and fountains to the beautiful pillars with inlaid flowers and the British photographer knew how to take full advantage of them. Check out his amazing photos!
