The lace, a symbol of beauty and grace, has long past the boundaries of fashion industry, becoming a source of inspiration in the most unexpected areas. We previously featured some beautiful lace inspired tattoo designs and now we are pleasantly surprised to see that the lace-inspired art has hit the streets.
NeSpoon is a Polish artists who works “somewhere in between street art, pottery and jewelery”, transposing traditional lace patterns into large-scale murals or stencils, ceramic installations, and even embroidery.
NeSpoon has beautified urban centers around the world, from Warsaw to Perth, with her delicate jewelry-like works, using stencils, spray paint, embroidery and other techniques to turn unadorned spaces and surfaces into something beautiful.
Speaking about her signature style, NeSpoon said that “in every lace we can find a universal aesthetic code, which is deeply embedded in every culture. In every lace we find symmetry, some kind of order and harmony. Is it not that which we’re looking instinctively for?”.
