Today we’re going to take a virtual tour inside what can be called the ultimate beach house. Created by Charles Wright and his team of architects, this sci-fi looking residence dubbed the Edge is located on gorgeous Flagstaff Hill overlooking Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas, Australia and is one of the most mind-blowing residences we have come across. From the infinity pool and pond to the striking view, The Edge perfectly embodies Wright’s opinion on how seaside living should be.

From the outside, the single-level structure looks like an alien spaceship; inside, it reveals its spaces by sequence, which builds an element of surprise. All the rooms have been angled to the water, and ceilings are raked to follow the roofline down towards the windows and veranda. The effect is a cinematic disclosure of the horizon.

And it is not just the breath-taking location and views that made us call it the Edge by Charles Wright the ultimate beach house. This awesome contemporary house is packed up with outstanding features, such as a cantilevered concrete and granite day bed, which floats on the balcony, and the spectacular 10 meter infinity lap pool and pond situated at the building’s edge (its blue seems to spill into the sea).

Listed at a price of $4,500,000, this lavish beach house is definitely inaccesible for most of us. But it can certainly be a source of inspiration for our dream house !
