Comfort And Style In One: Sitskie’s Block Bench Molds To Your Body Curves
You’ve found a home that suits you in terms of price, location and design, and you’ve decorated it in a style that reflects your personal aesthetic. All should be good, right? Well, not if your furniture is a pain in the neck, back, hips or shoulders.
When people decorate their homes, it’s all about what looks good, fits in the space, matching colors, with no thought to how it will impact their body. Wooden furniture sure are great accessory pieces, accents to complete a house’s look. But sometimes that’s all they can be – an accessory, a decor. For whether we admit it or not, sitting on these hard thrones are a pain in the buttocks. Nice on the eyes, tough on the back.
Nothing compares to the elegance of wood, but comfort is not the first thing that comes to mind when you talk about a wooden bench. This is where Los Angeles-based design studio Sitskie Furniture intervened with a genius idea – an undulating wooden bench that follows the shape of your body when you sit on it. Say goodbye to stiff furniture and achy backs and say hello to chic pieces and comfy couch hours !
The Block System, which was masterminded by Sitskie Furniture Co, was designed to give users a soft and comfortable sitting experience while keeping all of the benefits of a solid surface – durability, cleanliness and the aesthetic qualities of a solid material.
How does Block System works ? . By compressing and partitioning the many wooden parts, the furniture is gently curved to adopt the shape of the body of the user.
To date, Sitskie has integrated the Block System into both a chair and a bench design – each item is made from solid domestic hardwood that is both responsibly harvested and FSC Certified. Since Sitskie uses local independent artisans and businesses to craft their products, the comfort of sitting in a Block Chair or a Block Bench can come in more ways than one.
