A Different Kind Of Star Wars Article Thanks to David Irvine
“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away”…who the hell isn’t familiar with this historical line? A lot of generations grew up with this American epic space opera franchise and we personally haven’t heard a single person say “hey, I don’t like Star Wars”. We’ve seen it over and over again, memorizing some awesome lines and we thought that the counting of the series have stopped in 2005, when it looked like the saga was officially over. Lucasfilm and Twentieth Century Fox released Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which completed the prequels trilogy and tied the story back to the first film in the series.
But then along came Disney. In October 2012 the studio brokered a $4.05 billion deal to buy Lucasfilm, and with the deal came the announcement that they would be starting production on a whole new trilogy of Star Wars films that would keep the epic story going for years and years to come.
Since the first official trailer, the virtual world just went nuts! The internet is flooded with comments, song, funny pictures, memes and so on and so forth. Browsing Etsy today, we came across a very interesting approach of the Star Wars theme.
Artist David Irvine likes to imagine what Darth Vader does on his days off; painting him into a variety of scenes from discarded thrift store paintings. From golfing and fishing, to blissful jaunts down a lazy river, Darth just likes to chill—he’s just like us! We thought he was the most original of the all, so we invite you to browse through his paintings, and for more infos about his or a future purchase, you can find him on his official website from where you can visit more of his platforms. Thanks for making us smile!
