Story From The Road: Couple Took Their 4-Year-Old Son On A 28,000 Km Trip Around Europe To Show Him The World
There are some people who never feel the urge to leave the house. They’re content to stay in the city they came from, the couch they sit on, and the 360 degrees that immediately surround them.
Then there’s the rest of us: the people who can’t sit still. Whether you call it wanderlust, a love of travel or regular old curiosity – the fact remains the same: your hunger to explore simply cannot be quenched, no matter how many vacations or journeys you take.
Mihai Barbu, a Romanian photographer and his girlfriend Oana Leulescu belong to the category of those born to travel. In the summer of 2015, the two did what many of us only dream: they dropped everything and went on a trip around Europe with their 4-year-old son Vladimir to show him the world. What better way to teach a child that “the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page” ?
Riding a 2014 Ural Ranger sidecar that they called Zair, they spent four months traveling across Europe, through 41 countries, spanning 28,000 kilometers (roughly 17,400 miles). They’ve documented much of the journey through photos – a short story in pictures thay may inspire you to start in your own adventure around the world.
